Blurring the Doubt to Minimize Maternal Deaths (BUNDO)

BUNDO (Blurring the Doubt to Minimize Maternal Deaths) is a community development program by SCORA CIMSA-BEM KM FK Unand that has been successfully running for the past three years. The program aims to educate women of reproductive age about the importance of antenatal care (ANC) and proper nutrition during pregnancy, specifically in RW 7, Kecamatan Kuranji, Padang.

On August 24th, we conducted a pre-activity assessment through door-to-door interviews to evaluate the knowledge and awareness of women in RW 7 regarding maternal health. This assessment was crucial to ensure that the upcoming events addressed the specific needs of the women in the area.

The first pre-intervention training took place on September 7th via Zoom. Speakers included representatives from the nutrition department at FK Unand and Peer Education Trainer (PETRA), who provided valuable insights. Aliya Afifah discussed the significance of antenatal care, while Prof. Dr. Nur Indrawaty Lipoeto emphasized the importance of maternal nutrition. This training prepared the members to effectively present the material during the interventions.

The first intervention occurred on September 14th, 2024, where committee members shared information with the community to enhance knowledge about maternal health. Fun games were incorporated to keep participants engaged.

On October 6th, a bonding session at Musholla Baiturahim involved 15 pregnant women and community members, featuring a competition called “Isi Piringku” and a documentation session. Finally, on November 10th, the third intervention offered pregnancy yoga and comprehensive health check-ups, along with free ultrasound scans in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at RSUP M. Djamil Padang.

We hope that women of reproductive age in RW 7 gained valuable knowledge and enjoyable experiences from our event. We, SCORA CIMSA BEM-KM FK Unand, cherished our experiences during BUNDO. Let us continue to inspire and support each other with passion and love!
