Blurring the Doubt to Minimize Maternal Deaths (BUNDO)

BUNDO (Blurring the Doubt to Minimize Maternal Deaths) is a community development program by SCORA CIMSA-BEM KM FK Unand that has been running for three years to educate women of reproductive age in RW 7, Kuranji, Padang, about antenatal care (ANC) and maternal nutrition. The program began with a pre-activity assessment on August 24th through door-to-door interviews to evaluate maternal health awareness. A pre-intervention training on September 7th via Zoom featured experts discussing antenatal care and maternal nutrition. The first intervention on September 14th focused on community education through interactive activities. On October 6th, a bonding session at Musholla Baiturahim engaged 15 pregnant women in a nutrition-themed competition. The final intervention on November 10th provided pregnancy yoga, health check-ups, and free ultrasound scans in collaboration with RSUP M. Djamil Padang. The program successfully enhanced maternal health awareness while fostering a supportive community.

Children Immunization in order to Increase the Resistance of Pneumonia by SCOPH (CITRUS)

The CITRUS program (Children Immunization to Increase the Resistance of Pneumonia by SCOPH) is a community-driven initiative by SCOPH CIMSA-BEM KM FK Unand to combat pneumonia in children under five in West Sumatra. Launched in 2023 and continuing into 2024, the program addresses declining vaccination rates and pneumonia prevalence through education, outreach, and immunization campaigns in Kelurahan Seberang Padang. CITRUS included four intervention phases, starting with door-to-door vaccine awareness campaigns, interactive community activities, educational sessions with pediatric experts, and collaboration with health centers for vaccinations. The program successfully engaged residents, countered misinformation, and strengthened local health efforts by appointing community health cadres. Recognized for its impact, CITRUS was awarded Best Project for Period 1 in CIMSA, underscoring its success in improving child health and promoting immunization awareness.

Flood Resilience with Green Energy (FORGE)

SCORP CIMSA-BEM KM FK Unand organized FORGE (Flood Resilience With Green Energy) to celebrate the International Day of Disaster Risk Reduction. The event aimed to increase disaster preparedness among Banuaran Village residents in Padang through training, discussions, simulations, and workshops. Pre-activity training was conducted for SCORP members by SiagaBencana.com, CIMSA’s Humanitarian Response Team, and HET, along with a session from Climate Reality Indonesia on renewable energy. The main event involved disaster preparedness education, group discussions, flood simulations, and a biopore-making workshop. FORGE aimed to enhance community awareness, preparedness, and active participation in disaster risk reduction efforts.

SCORE Goes Public - Observing Risk Factors in Children’s Asthma (SGP-ORCA)

SGP-ORCA (SCORE Goes Public - Observing Risk Factors in Children’s Asthma) is a research project by SCORE CIMSA-BEM KM FK Unand aimed at identifying risk factors for childhood asthma while enhancing research skills among its members. Given the high prevalence of asthma in West Sumatra, particularly in Padang, this study targeted first and second-grade students at SDN 02 Cupak Tangah using the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC) questionnaire. The project included pre-activity training on asthma and SPSS software (September 8, 2024), the main activity of distributing validated questionnaires and conducting interactive role-plays (September 27, 2024), and post-activity data analysis (October 12, 2024). The findings showed no significant correlation between risk factors and childhood asthma cases, likely due to the small sample size, with only two non-acute asthma cases out of 35 respondents. These results highlight the need for further research with a larger sample to better assess asthma prevalence in Padang, particularly in the Puskesmas Pauh area

LOOPY: Breast Cancer Awareness & Early Detection SCORA CIMSA-BEM KM FK Unand held LOOPY to educate Staff Hanifah Medical Centre, Padang, on breast cancer awareness and early detection. On October 11, 2024, a pre-activity training covered breast cancer screening and SADARI (Self-Breast Examination. The main event on October 12, 2024 featured talks by PERABOI and LOVEPINK Padang, covering early detection and prevention. The event included SADARI demonstrations, a knowledge test, games, and a Q&A session to reinforce learning.
